A beer evening discovery with Paul Davies (UK), Stu Stuart (USA) & Thomas Vandelanotte (BE)

22 May @ 19:00 - 22:15 CEST

An evening with … Paul Davies (πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§), Stu Stuart (πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ) & Thomas Vandelanotte (πŸ‡§πŸ‡ͺ) The best of three beer 🍺 cultures in one night!
——————————————-

Belgium, the US and the UK. All three countries have a very distinct beer culture with their own specific beer styles, however all of these beer cultures operate in a world that is changing constantly and is moving towards a more global approach. In a panel conversation with three beer connaisseurs from the UK, the US and Belgium, we discover what binds and differentiates our three beer cultures, whilst tasting beers from our three nations, some of them very rare and exclusive!

Paul Davies (UK), Stu Stuart (US) and Thomas Vandelanotte (BE) will be looking into the evolution of the craft beer market. How is it evolving (especially post-covid)? What are the current and future trends? What challenges are we facing? Is there a future for small independent brewers and specific beer styles such as trappists and sour beers? What can we do to support our beer cultures together?

Paul Davies (UK) is the founder of AleHunters, a beer event business in London. He is also a certified Cicerone and international beer judge. He hosts training courses for pub companies in the UK and writes regularly for the Brewers Journal in the UK and Canada. Paul also organises group tours and private tours to Belgium on a regular basis.

Stu Stuart (US) calls himself, “An ambassador of good beer.” He is the Founder and Quartermaster of BBM! Tours specializing in beer tours of Belgium, Netherlands, France & Germany. He has produced and led beer tours for more than 15 years. He is also an avid collector of breweriana. In 2018, he became an Honorary Knight of the Knighthood of the Brewers Mash Staff. He was the first member of the beer tourism industry to receive this honor from the Belgian Brewers Federation.

Thomas Vandelanotte (BE) is the master brewer for the John Martin group. He helped to reinstate the red-brown Bourgogne des Flandres (https://www.facebook.com/bourgognedesflandres – https://www.instagram.com/bourgogne_des_flandres/ ) beer in Bruges in 2015. He also creates and develops new beers for the group and does some unique experimentals a couple of times a year, that can only be tasted in the taproom. Besides a very talented brewer, Thomas is also a zythologist and a knowledgeable and passionate speaker on many different beer related topics. He is a board member of BAB (Beer festival in Bruges) and HORAL (High council for Artisanal Lambic beers) ) and Honorary Knight of the Belgian Knighthood of the Brewers Mash Staff.
