The long-awaited fifth edition of the Great Breweries Marathon will take place on Sunday 8 May. Duvel Moortgat, Brouwerij Bosteels and Brouwerij Palm & De Hoorn are once again joining forces to offer runners and walkers a fantastic course and tasty beers. You can register from now on.
In an ideal world, the fifth edition of the Great Breweries Marathon would have already taken place in 2020. The corona pandemic was also a bummer in 2021, but this year it should be possible with the fifth edition of the Great Breweries Marathon.
The ingredients of this unique experience marathon are the same as for the forced break. In the heart of Flanders, three glorious breweries – Duvel Moortgat, Brouwerij Bosteels and Brouwerij Palm & De Hoorn – are opening their gates to runners and walkers. The participants can choose a tour of 25 km or 42.195 km. Runners and walkers who go ‘all the way’ and opt for the marathon distance are presented with a quiet and rural route that connects the three organizing breweries and the provinces of Antwerp, East Flanders and Flemish Brabant. All course details will be announced shortly.
It is certain that the start and finish will be at Duvel Moortgat in Breendonk and that tasting will take place at the finish. The hikers are allowed to sip from a glass when they visit the breweries along the way. The entry package of all applicants for the Great Breweries Marathon also includes a beer package, composed by the three organizing breweries.
